Rationale for revision
The "Status" column of the PICS tables in A.5 and A.6 contain
references to the PICS items "SI-9" and "SI-10". However, no such PICS
items exist in table A.6, that contains the items labeled "SI-". The
labels seem to be a leftover from IEEE Std 802.1AR-2009 where the
items in table A.6 used labels of the form "SI-[number]". As the items
"SI-9" and "SI-10" no longer exist in A.6 in IEEE Std 802.1AR-2018,
they need to be updated to point to the correct entries. "SI-9" should
be "SI-KG" and "SI-10" should be "SI-KI".
Proposed text
In table A.6, change the entry in the "Status" column of item "SI-KD" to read:
"SI-KG:M
SI-KI:M"
In table A.5, change the entry in the "Status" column of item "RNG" to read:
"SI-KG:M
O"
Impact on existing networks
to help implementers of the standard to correctly fulfill the requirements
of the document.
