2019-09-17 Sep 2019 Interim An attachment detailing a number of recommended changes is available at: http://www.ieee802.org/1/files/public/docs2019/maint-specht-yang-comments-0919-v01.pdf. The scope of the proposed changes requires further vetting within the YANGsters task group. One possible way forward is to prioritize true bugs and enhancements so that a potential new project to update the overall 802.1Q YANG modules can be considered. Future discussion and recommendations to come from the YANGsters TG. Technical experts review
2020-05-21 21 May 2020 Interim After reviewing item 11 in the list documented in the contribution noted in September 2019, it was agreed that there is an FDB per component and that clause 12 is erroneous. The Clause 12 view that the FDB is per bridge dates back to the times before we had bridge components defined. The fix for this needs to be in Clause 12, not in the YANG or MIB. 2021-01-22 19 Jan 2021 Interim An updated review of the issues with some recommendations for proceeding is provided by https://www.ieee802.org/1/files/public/docs2021/maint-specht-yang-comments-0121-v02.pdf. It was agreed to move the non-YANG issue related to FDB per-component specification in clause 12 into its own maintenance item. It was also recommended to 'chip away' at the well described issues. Next step is to extract the various items, group them accordingly and create specific maintenance items to track and address them. A proposal will be done offline and discussed in YANGsters.
