The changes to IEEE802.1AS-2020 that is outlined in Maintenance Item #322 are no longer needed; and I would like to withdraw the proposal.
With help from Geoff and Kevin, Malcolm and his team implemented a mechanism that required no changes to the IEEE802.1AS-2020 specification while maintaining the time synchronization performance. They have performed enough tests to ascertain that the existing description of the Follow_Up information (as described in Cl. 12.7 of IEEE802.1AS-2020) is sufficient (without the changes proposed in Maintenance Item #322). |
